Gosier Islet – La Datcha Beach
Gosier Islet – La Datcha Beach
If you are spending your holiday in Grande-Terre Island, Gosier Islet and La Datcha Beach are 2 interesting spots to explore.
La Datcha Beach
La Datcha Beach is situated in the heart of Le Gosier township, in Grande-Terre Island. With crystal clear turquoise waters and white sand, this beach is famous for having night lighting quite late, until midnight. Indeed, all beaches are not illuminated in Guadeloupe Archipelago.
Nearby, you will find a parking, a small convenience shop, street food sellers as well as a handful of very good restaurants and bars.
Gosier Islet
From La Datcha Beach you will be able to see Gosier Islet few hundred metres from the coast. The islet is a small paradise dominated by a red and white lighthouse.
Gosier Islet is round-shaped with white fine sand and a stunning blue lagoon. It is an excellent stretch to do snorkelling and therefore discover translucent seabed and animals living in the coral reefs.
Since 2003, Gosier Islet is under the protection of the Conservatoire du Littoral to ensure its conservation. To reach the islet there are different options. You can go by swimming, but it can be dangerous because of the numerous small boats sailing there. Another alternative is to take a short boat ride for 3€.
Gosier Islet is highly recommended to enjoy a quiet and nice day with family and friends. On the islet, there is a welcoming small restaurant Le Robinson serving Creole authentic cuisine. You will have the option to sit in or take away as the islet is perfect to have a picnic.
Gosier Islet should be on top of mind when visiting Le Gosier, which is one of the most lively and touristic townships in Guadeloupe Archipelago.
