The Coconut house is a must see site when visiting Guadeloupe Archipelago. Located in Grande-Terre Island more precisely in Saint-François Township, the Coconut house is composed of a Souvenir shop and an Ecomuseum where you will find interesting information about the coconut itself.
The Coconut house has been created by an ambitious man who wanted to share with the public the multiple assets that the coconut has in Arts and Craft industry.
When arriving, you will get a warm welcoming with a refreshing drink made with coconut milk or some coconut water. The Souvenir shop gathers over 900 objects from 20 or so artists from Guadeloupe Archipelago and all over the world. From the roots, the trunk, the leaves, to the fruit everything is used in a creative and original way to make handy, useful and decorative objects such as hats, lamps, ashtrays, wall decor items, key-ring…etc
You will also find a large choice of jewellery and accessories including earrings, necklaces and bracelets for a good value for money.
After shopping in the Souvenir boutique, don’t forget to have a look to the Ecomuseum where you will find educational boards with valuable explanation on the coconut.
